At the Panasonic Open, a number of social contribution activities were conducted around the themes of "the environment," "nurturing the next generation" and "regional contribution."

- Panasonic shows its thanks to Kyoto's Joyo City for its cooperation by donating plasma TVs and other products
Throughout this tournament, Kyoto's Joyo City graciously provided its cooperation and assistance through a number of supporting organizations present. To show its gratitude for these efforts, Panasonic, one of the organizers of the tournament, donated 50V-inch "VIERA" digital HD plasma TVs and "DIGA" Blu-ray Disk recorders to a total of 33 public facilities in Joyo City, beginning with all 15 of the city's public elementary and middle schools. It is the hope of Panasonic that these products will be effectively applied to nurturing the next generation.
On November 11th (Tue), a presentation ceremony was held at Joyo City Hall. There, Panasonic Managing Executive Officer Takumi Kajisha provided Joyo City Mayor Akio Hashimoto with a certificate, after which Mayor Hashimoto presented Panasonic with a certificate of appreciation.
On hand at the presentation ceremony were Hiroyuki Nagafuchi, Manager of the Joyo Country Club, and three elementary school students from Joyo City who participated in the tournament on its final day as "Escort Kids."
A very amiable atmosphere surrounded the proceedings.

"Eco-Buses" that operated according to the below schedule provided free transportation to tournament spectators. These buses utilized fuel produced through recycling tempura oil (BDF: biodiesel fuel) used in Panasonic's employee cafeteria and other locations.

Observing play on the course

On September 25th (Fri), a field trip was conducted with participants invited from local elementary schools. The program included watching play on the golf course, visiting the TBS broadcasting center and interacting with participating professional players on the practice grounds.
Junior Lesson Session
- Junior Lesson Session
On the evening of , September 26th (Sat), a "Junior Lesson Session" that featured the involvement of participating professional players and 30 local junior golfers was held on the practice grounds and 1st Gallery Plaza (green).
A number of professional golfers were on hand at the event, with Kenichi Kuboya, Yuji Igarashi, Terry Pilkadaris, Han Lee, I J Jang and Michio Matsumura present at the driving range, and Kiyoshi Miyazato, S K Ho, Thaworn Wiratchant and Kazuhiro Yamashita present on the practice green.
Participating junior golfers lent their ears to the seasoned advice of pros as they showed off quite a few nice shots and puts of their own.

On September 27th (Sun), the final day of the tournament, 27 local junior golfers escorted participating professional players to the starting hole, setting the mood for the tournament.

- Assistance in Charity Activities
Throughout the tournament, a "Pic with Ryo" corner allowing participants to take a souvenir photo superimposed next to one of Ryo Ishikawa was available at the Gallery Plaza.
A collection box for the "Asia Volunteer Center," a non-profit organization, was placed at this corner. Proceeds will be donated towards disaster restoration assistance and other activities in the Asian region.
Additionally, in the "Green Town Development in Joyo Fund Corner," which promoted greenery in the local city of Joyo, the tournament secretariat lent a hand in conducting charity activities through distributing 1,000 original pin badges.
